Life in Half a Second How to Achieve Success Before it Too Late eBook Matthew Michalewicz
This book not only explains in straightforward and passionate terms the things you need to do to achieve your goals, it provides a litmus test for you to determine what you really want from life. The author provides many examples from real life and quotes scientific research on human behavior to inexorably drive home main points of the book. The reader is compelled to take action -- not because the book makes him/her feel guilty, not because of some mind tricks, but simply because it makes sense to do so. That is, the motivation is internal, not external. This is why it works!
I have already taken several actions because of this book. For example, one of the things I would like to achieve is to win the 50-meter freestyle in the 2014 Gulf coast senior games. The author advises the reader to share personal goals with others -- well I just did. Also, I stopped swimming at the community pool that is 86 F where I'm the fastest one in the pool and started swimming at the swim team the university pool which is 75 F and where the swim team regularly works out. I also am seeking knowledge by paying for coaching and underwater video-analysis of my stroke. This last step was always missing -- knowledge. I figured that if I worked out hard by myself I could achieve my goals. Now I'm on my way. If you're coming to the 2014 Gulf Coast Senior games and swimming the 50-freestyle in the 50-55 age group -- you better bring it.
Finally, I bought a copy of this book for each of my three children with the hope that they take full advantage of their half-second and I have recommended it to several of my students.

Life in Half a Second How to Achieve Success Before it Too Late eBook Matthew Michalewicz Reviews
This book makes so much sense. As I read it I could see myself doing things I had only ever dreamed about. But that's just it. This book shows me how to stop being a dreamer and start being a doer, an achiever.
If I'm prepared to do what this book says, I have just exponentially increased by chances of success. It breaks down into simple steps all of the reasons why successful people succeed.
This book is for anyone who has a desire to make a positive change and finally start putting runs on the board. If you want to look back in a year's time and see things getting done in your life, read this book. If you want to build a future that is what you've always wanted, this book is the blueprint that you need.
Five star. I can give it 10. It's the most amazing, awakening, insightful book ever.for the first time I have actually bothered to pick up a paper and complete all the action exercises. It is so difficult to be simple but this book's greatness is in its simplicity and the way the author conveys his thoughts is so inspiring yet so thoughtful. I am so glad and happy I came across this book and had the opportunity to read it. I have started changing my life already. The letters from the future inspired me to hit the bulls eye. Great just great
Amazing book. I have been reading many business and self-help books in the last 15 years and I find this book concise and very powerful showing exactly what to do to increase your probabilities of being successful, whatever success means to you.
Meeting Matthew Michalewicz in person was also a great experience. You can tell that he lives by the message that he shares in this book and he is a true inspiration to everyone that comes across him.
I can count only a few books in my life that have had the exact message I was yearning for. Somehow, Matthew knew exactly what I was thinking and wrote exactly how to move forward. None of this information is new, per se, but the way it was packaged is so effective. If you take it seriously, it can change your life.
I also very much appreciate the brevity and concise writing style. So many authors mistakenly believe that more text equals a better book, but nothing could be further from the truth. The efficient style makes it much easier to really incorporate the thoughts and ideas he shares.
Bravo Matthew!!! You have a fan for life.
Of all self-help guidance books this one in particular touched me like no other in the genre. The fact that it makes you aware that you have x DAYS left, not years ahead puts your mind in such a motion I haven't felt before. I don't tend to procrastinate, but this book is written in such a manner that makes your sense of urgency arise in such a way that it shook my mind. A sense of urgency not related to work, but your life. Do The things that you trully want, not "have to" because life is short. Really short.
Don't stick for the obvious follow-the-crowd attitude. Stand out for what you should be doing, what you WANT to be doing.
Money well spent.
Despite what the description says ("not just another rah-rah book on goal setting"), this is precisely what it is. The old "set your mind to it and go out and get what's yours." I endured a 1.5 hour keynote by the author and it was roughly the same thing. Pretty common sense stuff on discipline, hard work, endurance, goal setting.
Hey, if I could do those things I wouldn't need the book now would I? Lately I've been getting much better milage out of authors who discuss the spiritual elements of success (e.g. Deepak, Williamson, etc) and how paradoxically it's not about how hard you try and that there is more to this game of business and the work of life, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, than setting goals and achieving them.
There are countless motivational books on success out there but this one is definitely one of my favorite.
I know I am reading a good book when I can't put it down and then read it over the weekend in just 3 sittings.
The author distills the essential elements necessary in achieving success by passing through the "5 doors".
Do yourself a favor and read the first chapter, after that you will be compelled to open the other doors.
After you finish reading this book, it's time for action to achieve success !
